Starbucks 1970 logo and tag line

$9.00

Shipping to United States: $3.50

For all you history buffs out there, when Starbucks opened in the 1970s by two teachers and a writer; they're original logo was a sexualized siren. This logo was a wood carving the graphic designer found of a 16th century Nordic siren. They're tag line was going to be "Have a cup of Pequod," referring to captain Abraham's ship from the novel, Moby Dick. Starbuck is actually the Captain's first mate in the novel.

I made this cup because after I read about this it blew my mind! In order to appreciate good graphic design and marketing, one has to learn about the not-so-great design and marketing.

This is a Starbucks warm drink travel cup. Even though it's not insulated, it does keep your coffee warm for a few hours. It's very impressive. Cold cup photos coming soon.

Hand wash only.
